Helzberg Diamonds was founded over 90 years ago, and since day one we've dedicated ourselves to delighting our customers with superior service and high-quality jewelry. That's because we understand how special it is to buy fine jewelry - and we want you to treasure the experience for years to come.
1915
Morris Helzberg opened his first store.
1930
Helzberg developed the Certified Perfect Diamonds Program - diamonds that the jewelry industry labeled as perfect under 10 power magnification.
1948
Helzberg opened Helzberg's House of Treasures on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City. The store was built on three levels and sold fine china and silver in addition to jewelry.
1959
Helzberg operated 15 stores in six markets, along with a mail order division.
1967
Shirley and Barnett Helzberg, Jr. were married and the I Am Loved® button was born.
1970s
Helzberg pursued an aggressive expansion plan, opening on average three new malls stores per year and operating 42 stores in 16 states by the end of the decade.
1990
Helzberg enters the 90s with 101 stores in 22 states.
1995
Warren Buffet purchased Helzberg Diamonds.
1996
Helzberg launched an eCommerce site – helzberg.com
1999
Helzberg grew to 200 stores
2010
With more than 230 stores and helzberg,com, Helzberg became the first nationwide jeweler to qualify for membership in the American Gem Society.
