Helzberg Diamond Masterpiece® captures the elusive beauty and scintillation of a rare diamond. Only one-half of one percent of the world&´s stones are considered fine enough for this honor. Every Helzberg Diamond Masterpiece® showcases an exquisite "hearts and arrows" pattern, achieved by precisely aligning every cut and optimally proportioning evey facet. Each must achieve the highest possible grade for polish and symmetry - nothing less than "excellent" - making a Helzberg Diamond Masterpiece® an elegant tribute to devotion and love.
The Degas Diamond™
The paintings of Edgar Degas are famed for their subtle interplay of color, form and light. And so too is the diamond now available exclusively at Helzberg®. Like the ballerinas who grace so many of the artist´s works, light seems to dance upon the diamond´s facets. It is the beauty of fluid motion, captured forever in a true masterpiece.
The Mondrian Diamond™
Painter Piet Mondrian stunned the world with bold blocks of color and a truly unconventional geometric playfulness. The Mondrian square-cut diamond by Helzberg accomplishes much the same, enthralling any audience from the moment it is unveiled. Now available pre-set or as a loose diamond.
Why are these diamonds so rare?
Because diamonds are often more valued for their weight than their cut, diamond cutters may sacrifice optimum angles and percentages in order to create a heavier diamond. The result is a stone with a higher carat weight but less sparkle.
A Helzberg Diamond Masterpiece®, however, adheres to strict standards for cutting excellence. The result may be a diamond with less weight, but a discriminating buyer will appreciate its exceptional brilliance.
What does an excellent/excellent grade mean?
The GIA® (Gemological Institute of America®) evaluates polish by examining a finished diamond under 10X magnification, looking for visible polishing lines and marks. A Helzberg Diamond Masterpiece®, which is rated "Excellent" for polish, has no polish lines or marks visible at that level of magnification.
In order to achieve an "Excellent" rating for symmetry, a diamond must be free of any irregularities in shape. A Helzberg Diamond Masterpiece® will not have misaligned facets, an off-center culet, a wavy girdle, or any other features that can result in a lower grade for symmetry.
You can see your Helzberg Diamond Masterpiece® "excellent/excellent" grades for yourself, because each one of these diamonds comes with its own individual GIA® report, which will also evaluate your diamond´s color, clarity, and other characteristics. Your GIA® report´s number will be inscribed on your diamond´s girdle, giving your diamond its unique identity.
Hearts and Arrows
When a diamond is cut with precisely aligned and carefully shaped facts, it will produce a clear and beautiful "hearts and arrows" pattern when viewed under a magnifying scope. When you look at it from the top, you´ll be able to see eight distinct arrows. When you view it from below, you´ll see eight perfect hearts.
