Stainless steel has been around for many years. Harry Brearley of England is credited as being the inventor of stainless steel when working on an erosion resistant alloy for gun barrels.
Stainless steel is a metal composed of iron alloy and a minimum of 10.5% chromium. The addition of chromium makes the metal resistant to staining, corroding or oxidation. Stainless steel is a relatively hard, durable and affordable metal that's typically light grey in color.
