My fiancé just bought me this ring, and I right away had to go get it sized so I haven't even had a good chance to look at the cut, clarity, and color. My birth certificate for the diamond says that it is best colorless however, the clarity is only I1 on this diamond. I was wondering if you could see the inclusions on the diamond with the naked eye? Or where exactly are they on this diamond?

Answer:
You would normally be able to see inclusions with the naked eye in an I1 diamond. However, you have a Radiant Star, which is uniquely cut with 145 facets versus the traditional 58. This is important to you because it makes it harder to see any natural inclusions. For detailed specifics regarding your diamond, I recommend that you refer to your grading report.

Answer:
I1 means the diamond has inclusions however, with such a brialliant cut like the raidiant star you can get away with a slightly lower clarity since the extra facets does a great job at hiding the inclusions and only reflecting light. You may or may not be able to see inclusions with the naked eye unless they are directly ontop of the diamond. Usually they are better hidden though and you wont be able to see anything but sparkle.
