In some of the reviews I read, it was mentioned that this ring is not true white gold, but merely yellow gold that has been dipped in white gold in order to make it appear as if it were white gold. I did not see this mentioned anywhere in the ring description. Maybe I am just unfamiliar with what this means though. Could you possibly clarify? Please explain what dipping is, as well as if this ring has been dipped, or if it is true white gold.

Answer:
All rings that are marked white gold are truly white gold. While white gold contains varying amounts of gold, which is always yellow, it also contains one or more white metals to lighten its color and add strength and durability. The most common white metals that form the white gold alloy are nickel, palladium, platinum and manganese. Sometimes copper, zinc or silver are added. The properties of white gold, including its color, depend on its composition. Although most people think white gold is a shiny white metal, that color is actually from the rhodium metal plating that is applied to all white gold jewelry. Without the rhodium plating, white gold might be gray, dull brown, or even pale yellow. In order to get the bright white finish that we have come to expect in regards to white gold, the ring is rhodium “dipped” or plated. This plating will wear off over time, and will just need to be re-plated on occasion. Still have further questions? Contact one of our Bridal Experts at 1-800-435-9237.

I have smaller hands but I LOVE this ring, and there is no way a size 6 will fit me. Is there any way to get it smaller?

Answer:
Due to the unique design of this ring the smallest size that it is available in would be a size 6. If you were to size beyond this recommended size, it would cause the ring to lose its integrity. You may also experience stone loss issues. Still have further questions? Contact one of our Jewelry Experts at 1-800-435-9237 or email EngageAnExpert@helzberg.com.

The Four Cs

Helzberg Diamond
Masterpiece®

Helzberg Diamond Masterpiece®

At Helzberg Diamonds, we differentiate ourselves by the emphasis placed on the cut, polish, and symmetry of our finished diamonds. With that in mind, it was fitting that we feature a diamond in our assortment whose precision cut was truly unique - The Helzberg Diamond Masterpiece®. The term "masterpiece" denotes an extraordinary work of art by a master painter, sculptor, or craftsman and is an appropriate term for our premier diamond. It takes experienced master diamond cutters years before they are able to achieve the level of skill required to cut a Helzberg Diamonds Masterpiece, resulting in less than one half of one percent of the world's diamonds that meet our stringent criteria.

Every Helzberg Diamond Masterpiece showcases an exquisite "hearts and arrows" pattern, achieved by precisely aligning every cut and optimally proportioning every facet. Each must achieve the highest possible grade for polish and symmetry - nothing less than "excellent"- making the Helzberg Diamond Masterpiece an elegant tribute to devotion and love and a fitting representation of the Helzberg Diamonds brand.
