Tantalum is a rare, blue-gray colored dense earth metal. One of the five major refractory metals in the world, Tantalum is extremely heat and wear resistant, and has the third highest melting point of all the elements. Tantalum's rarity is due to a difficult attaining process, and based on the current rate of extraction, it is estimated there are less than 50 years of Tantalum resources left.
Tantalum is almost completely impervious to air, water and all but a few acids, and is more ductile than similar colored metals. Tantalum Forge bands, by BENCHMARK, are 100% pure which means there is no other alloy used in the process, which creates the metal's strength. Used in many highly unique applications such as jet engines, missile components, space vehicles, and more, BENCHMARK Tantalum rings are proudly produced in the USA with ethically mined and conflict free Tantalum primarily mined from Australia.
