Is this ring available in a smaller size?

Asked by: Tricky
Due to the design of this ring the smallest size we offer is a 7. If you were to size beyond the recommended sizes, it could cause the ring to lose its integrity. You may also experience stone loss issues. Still have further questions? Contact one of our Jewelry Experts at 1-800-435-9237.

I have a follow up to a question that was previously asked.

Another poster asked if this opal was a doublet or a triplet and "HelzbergStaff" answered no, it was a solid opal. I would like you to research this a little further. If you look at the profile photos of this ring and compare them to another, lighter colored opal -- such as https://www.helzberg.com/product/opal+diamond+ring+2156624.do?from=Search&cx=0 -- you'll notice a difference (see attached photos). This ring's photo appears to have a backing behind the opal itself, which is one of the characteristics of a cheaper doublet or triplet, not a solid opal. You see no such backing in the other ring's opal. Furthermore, the color of the opal in this photo is sharply bluer than most other opals (again, compare the pictures). This is another characteristic of doublets/triplets--the dark backing gives the stone a darker color, to mimic the appearance of the much more expensive black opal. Lastly, we actually ordered this ring, and what arrived was a very dark green "opal" whose color resembled that of a sapphire. And guess what? The stone on our ring clearly has a black backing!! So once more, can you confirm that this ring's center stone is NOT a doublet or a triplet? Thanks.
