Shop June Birthstone Jewelry at Helzberg Diamonds

The June birthstone is pearl. While not technically a gem like the rest of the birthstones, pearl is still a remarkable and gorgeous item to wear. Helzberg stocks freshwater, cultured, and Tahitian varieties, and all variations are approprite for June's birthstone. Pearl is said to symbolize purity and modesty. Read more on our pearl guide!

June also has a second birthstone: alexandrite. Alexandrite is relatively rare and has the fascinating ability to change color with lighting conditions - going from green to red to violet and more.

June also has a third birthstone - moonstone - and while less common than June's other stones, it is still a stunning addition to any jewelry box.

Birthstones are gems and other minerals that are associated with a month. This is a tradition that dates back to Biblical times, and through history it was customary to wear the stone associated with the current month during that time, then switch to the next birthstone during the next month. In addition, this was before stones could be identified as precisely as they can be today, so the identities of some of the original stones are unknown. It's only in the last century that the current list has been standard, and since then, it has been more appropriate to wear your birthstone all year 'round.
